LWR is offering grants to Lutheran churches and groups to promote Fair Trade. The goal is to help people in your church, school, workplace or community get interested and involved in Fair Trade through Lutheran World Relief. You can apply online or mail in your application. http://tinyurl.com/cpk7me Grants will be awarded in February and April. If you have any questions direct them to Maren at fairtrade@lwr.org or call 410.230.2839. 

Lutheran Summer Music, the national, month-long music academy for choir, band and orchestra students in grades 8-12, is now accepting applications for 2009.  This summer, LSM will be held at Luther College (Decorah, IA) from June 21 to July 19. The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration will be held in 2009. A very special part of the celebration will be "The Ringing of the Bells." If your church has a bell, or if you wish to participate with bell ringers, ring in Lincoln's birthday at noon on Feb. 12, 2009. Bells are to be rung for two minutes to coincide with 200 years.
