“Serving and growing in Christ through worship, outreach and community”

LCM is open and welcome to all students, faculty, and staff of NIU.

Free dinner made by people at area Lutheran churches at 8pm on Wednesdays, followed by a contemporary worship service at 9pm.

Lots of activities held throughout the year and peer ministers keep the place open 2 hours or more a night for people to drop in for a game of pool, some food, or a couple of hours of brainless television. This place is like heaven on campus!

imgA Reconciling in Christ Ministry

LCM has a TV room, game room (with ping-pong, darts and a pool table), a kitchen, study room and a meditation space for visitors to use.

LCM has been a great way to meet new friends and grow in faith. There are plenty of ways to get involved and the Wednesday night gatherings provide a break from the stresses of class.

I’ve made some great friends there and have been able to strengthen my faith by experiencing a kind of worship that is designed for students. I look forward to coming back this year!

When I was a freshman, I didn’t really feel like I fi t in at NIU until I started going to LCM. The people there were really laid back and cool, and the worship helped me feel focused and centered on God. I don’t know if I would have stayed at NIU if I hadn’t had LCM.
Kari

Lutheran Campus Ministry has provided me with an incredible group of friends who may be different from social aspects or majors, but all have the same faith and beliefs towards God that I do. I have never been scared to be myself at LCM, and I feel blessed to be a Peer Minister there also. I enjoy planning events and hanging out with everyone here and I cannot wait to continue expressing my faith here for another two years.
