The Northern Illinois Synod's Youth Director is Diaconal Minister, Mary Lasits

Mary Lasits is originally from New Jersey.  She moved to Illinois in 1989 to attend the now University of Saint Francis in Joliet, IL and graduated in 1993 with a B.A. in Business with a major in Marketing and a minor in Management.  In 1997 she began seminary at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and received her M.A. in 2000.  She received a call in 2001 to Peace Lutheran Church in New Lenox, IL working with young people, evangelism, and faith development.  Mary recently left Peace after 7.5 years of service and began work as the Synod Youth Coordinator and The Director of Youth and Outreach to Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in DeKalb, IL.
