You may be an experienced speaker or someone who has never even considered serving in this way. Please come and see! There is no cost for this training. If you have any questions, please contact Pr. Jeffrey Clements, assistant to the bishop. Keith Mundy, of the ELCA stewardship staff, will be the trainer. Please email June Cain or call her at 815-964-9934 to let her know that you will attend.

Illinois chapter, kforni@aol.com or call at 815 722-4800.
Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity (RAHFH) is starting their 2007 Construction Season on Saturday, May 5, with the framing of five homes. Anyone wishing to volunteer should report to the registration tent at 3430 Gladstone Avenue, Rockford, after 8:30 a.m. The build sites are within walking distance of the tent. The work day typically runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers are not required to work a certain number of hours. Any help is appreciated. Habitat welcomes volunteers every Saturday until the homes are completed in the fall. Tools are provided, but volunteers are asked to wear sturdy shoes. Many volunteers will bring work gloves and safety glasses, but RAHFH does provide both. A Volunteer Waiver must be reviewed and signed prior to working. They are available at the registration tent or at www.rockfordhabitat.org . Anyone 16 years of age and under 18 years of age will also be required to complete a Minor Volunteer Waiver. Due to insurance restrictions, no one under the age of 16 is allowed on the worksite. Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity, incorporated in 1987, is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry that works in partnership with people in need of decent shelter to build simple, affordable houses. Habitat homeowners purchase their houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgages while contributing hundreds of hours of “sweat equity” labor working on the homes. For more information, call 815-636-4573 or go to www.rockfordhabitat.org .
