This year’s Mission Gatherings “Care and Support for Rostered Leaders” will focus on healthy ways to provide these essential elements in the congregational setting. The support of rostered leaders is a missional ministry issue for congregations. Leadership in the church today is much more complex and difficult than it has ever been in the past. Therefore, leaders who live a balanced life and care for their health and wellness are best able to pass on their faith and model healthy behaviors for others. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.  Please invite any interested leaders in your congregations, all are welcome! Together let us continue to Make Christ Known by being “caring and supportive” of one another. Dates and locations: September 20 - Shepherd of the Hill, Lockport - East Conference; October 11 - Bethlehem, DeKalb - Northeast Conference; October 16 - Trinity, Ottawa - South Conference; October 18 - St. Mark, Rockford - North Conference; November 1 - Immanuel, Altona - Southwest Conference; and November 6 - Calvary, Moline - West Conference.

From Luther Productions "Faith Out Loud" video series We are told that we should be willing to witness to our faith, but most of us can't name the date we accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. "Faith Out Loud" offers hope for tongue-tied Christians to identify the fact that we have a faith story and we have words for our experience of God. Authentic conversations in the "Faith Out Loud" video series answer questions like "What Bible verse means the most to you?" and "How did you come to faith?" Order now

From Centered Life®: October 19, 2007 The Theology of Centered Life - Addressing the Unfinished Reformation Luther Seminary's Centered Life initiative continues its work to help congregations answer God's call to live their faith in the world. This one-day course designed for pastors, staff and lay leaders focuses on how two key doctrines of the reformation - grace and vocation - can help today's Christians discover meaning and belonging as they are awakened to God's presence in their lives.
