Upcoming programs from Luther Seminary: |
April 25, 2009 Navigating the Great Recession Now more than ever, communities of faith have an opportunity to heed the call of leadership and in turn offer hope and guidance. Luther Seminary and Share Save Spendâwill provide tools for you to help your congregation and community better understand the core issues related to the economic crisis and in turn develop a strategy and an action plan for how you can help people navigate these uncharted waters. Enroll now.
May 4-8, 2009 Talk, Walk, Lead: Equipping Stewardship Leaders Through this seminar you will gain a clearer understanding of your personal stewardship practices, a more articulate theology of stewardship and a richer rooting in biblical stewardship. You will learn a model for congregational financial appeals and how to boldly preach on stewardship throughout the year. As part of this seminar we will spend a day at Incarnation Lutheran Church, Shoreview, Minn., where Pastor Glenn Taibl will share what he has learned about encouraging generous giving. Enroll now.
April 14-16, 2009 Making Sense of Scripture: Answering Everyday Questions from Everyday People What are the big questions surrounding the Bible today? Specifically, what are you being asked in your context? And, were it possible, what questions would you yourself be asking? We gathered everyday questions like these during our January 2009 conference, Engaging Scripture for the Sake of the World, as well as from you at the time of your registration. Here, we'll assemble a crack team of scholars and practitioners to map thoughtful and compelling responses to these questions during our time together. Enroll now.
August 14-16, 2009 Book of Faith Jubilee: Equipping Everyday People to Read the Bible Christians have an understanding, even an expectation, that the Bible has the power to change lives. But as pastors and lay leaders, how do you help people even begin to open Scripture to let it do its work? How do you teach the Bible to change lives? Through inspiring keynotes, practical workshops, and conversational dinners this event will give you skills, resources, contacts (and an abundance of encouragement) to lead congregational and community renewal in reading the Bible. Enroll now.
