The Foods Resource Bank Chicago Area Regional Gathering will be Saturday, March 27 beginning at 9 am at St John's, Somonauk, IL. The event will include an overview for those new to FRB, growing project sharing, an update from FRB President Marv Baldwin , advocacy for small farmer agricultural development, roundtable discussions , networking, and more. Havoc in Haiti: A three part Katie's Cup Conversation at Katie's Cup, 502 Seventh St. in Rockford - March 30, April 9, and April 13. On 3/19 - The Church' s Response: Catholics in Haiti. Father David Beauvais will bring information about Project Hope, a 12-year-old Catholic mission effort in Haiti. 4/9 - The Church' s Response: Lutherans in Haiti. Louis O. Dorvilier, himself Haitian, currently serves as Director for International Development and Disaster Response in the ELCA Global Mission Unit. 4/13 - The Church' s Response: Heartland in Haiti. Dustin Waller, a professional photographer will share Heartland's efforts and photographs of his experiences there.
