Growing Lutheran Campus Ministry - The NIS is entering into it's final year of the "Growing LCM" campaign that was initiated by a task force appointed by the NIS Synod Council. The campaign goal was to raise $200,000 to support full-time pastoral ministry at Northern Illinois University. Despite difficult finanical times, nearly
$170,000 has already been contributed. This includes a $60,000 Thrivent Financial match, dollar-to-dollar, for 2010 and 2011 gifts. The response to this campaign has been wonderful and with a year left, the task force is confident the goal will be met with your help and thanks to Thrivent! You will hear more about the campaign at the NIS assembly. And, don't forget to stop by the Campus Ministry display at the assembly and learn how you can bring a young adult preacher into your pulpit this coming school year.
Financial support is needed for the Kids Against Hunger - Thrivent Financial Join Hands Day project on June 19 at the Pepsico Center in Rock Island. The NIS Youth Assembly will be there packing boxes, and Thrivent has contributed $550 to this event, but more funds are needed to help feed many more children and families locally and globally. Please contact Robyn Graham from Trinity, Moline, at 309-269-6500 to make a monetary donation. Find out more at http://kahqc.com/

Fast Facts According to the World Food Programme, in a 1970 UN Resolution, most industrialized nations committed themselves to tackling global poverty by spending 0.7 percent of their national incomes on international aid by 1975. Only Norway, Sweden, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Denmark regularly meet his target.
