The Northern Illinois Synod diakonia committee invites you to consider enrolling in a transformational program of lay theological education this fall. Diakonia is a two-year program of faith formation which equips Christians to live out their baptismal calling as servants of Christ. It is an education of the heart and the mind that begins with the announcement that God desires to have a personal relationship with us, not based on anything we can or cannot do, but simply on God's love for us as we are. Classes will be taught this fall in Cary, Moline, Peru, Rockford, and Sterling. For more information, go to www.nisynod.org/diakonia or contact Denise Rode, NIS diakonia chairperson, at 815-756-8321.
