Keyboard Musician Needed - LifeLIGHT Ministries is an outreach ministry of Christ Lutheran Church into the community of Poplar Grove, Illinois. LifeLIGHT Ministries will begin weekly worship on Sunday, October 3 at 10 am. Interested candidates should have competent keyboard skills and enthusiasm for helping to lead worship. The Northern Illinois Synod diakonia committee invites you to consider enrolling in a transformational program of lay theological education this fall. Diakonia is a two-year program of faith formation which equips Christians to live out their baptismal calling as servants of Christ. Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) and Lutheran Advocacy-Illinois will present a series of regional Community Forums on Tax Reform throughout the state in October. Watch for more information. The Rockford Area Community Forum on Tax Reform will be held on Saturday, October 16, at Salem Lutheran, 4405 Pinecrest Rd. in Rockford. The forum will be from 10 a.m. to Noon. Free registration.
Lutheran College Fairs
Come gain insight into the unique aspects of Lutheran higher education and a chance to meet representatives from some member colleges and universities. There is no charge for any of these events and no need to pre-register. In addition, students who attend will receive four application fee waivers for use at Lutheran colleges and universities.

"Marks of a Christian," the 2010 LOMC Adult Retreat, will focus on Romans 12, and will be led by Rev. David Miller from St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Naperville, Illinois. In this chapter, the apostle Paul calls us to a new life in Christ and identifies marks of the Christian life. The deep reflections and insightful questions in his book will help you explore how your life is "marked" by Christ and consider how you live out that marked life for the sake of the world.
