A message from the NIS Stewardship Team

St. Paul teaches and reminds us; “…for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

We believe, as people of God marked with the cross of Christ, that one of our core values includes being good stewards who have generous hearts filled with gratitude and joy. Living as grateful stewards simply means responding to what God has first done for us. God created life, God gave us Jesus Christ and God gives us the community of believers that we are a part of. God blesses us with “daily bread,” often far beyond our needs. Mature Christians know that God comes first, and make sure generous giving is an ongoing part of their lives. Generous giving in regard to time, to ability and interest or passions, and proportionate to what we have been given are ingredients in the recipe for a joy filled heart. Hearts filled with generosity are natural carriers of gratitude and joy is a mark of ones’ being in day to day life. Generous giving adds meaning to life, and is contagious. Gratitude and joy are the gifts of God for the people of God who openly and willingly share.
