Dear Fellow NIS member, You are invited to one of the information and training sessions for Mission Interpreters (MI) as listed below. Thank you for your interest in this program. -The first session is Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 2 pm to 5 pm at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran in Rockford. Light refreshment will be served. -The second session is Saturday, September 9, 2006 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at Faith Lutheran in Rochelle. Lunch will be provided. The Mission Interpreter program has been in existence in the ELCA for several years and now we are please to bring this program to the NIS. The MI program is designed as a wonderful way to communicate what ministries are happening in our synod, across the U.S. and around the world. We share the Good News of our ministries together. The MI program will provide you with workshops, resource materials, coaching, inspiration, networking and an annual gathering to share information and ideas. The purpose of the Mission Interpreter Program is to: -Share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people of the Northern Illinois Synod. -Provide a vehicle for positive two-way communications between congregations and the ELCA. -Tell stories of the NIS and ELCA ministries to the members of the church in an effective and compelling manner. -Provide an opportunity to thank the people of our synod for their gifts. Please contact Pastor Jeff Clements or me to let us know which session you would like to attend or if you have questions. Deb Martin: debmartin04@comcast.net or 815-540-5902 Rev. Jeff Clements: jclements@nisynod.org or 815-964-9934 (synod office) I am so thankful for your interest in this program and look forward to working with you. God’s Blessings, Deb Martin NIS Mission Interpreters Coordinator |
