Things the Synod can do to help with Wellness

  • Meet ½ hr before conference meetings to walk

  • Encouraging/supporting spiritual direction and/or have a “pastor” for each pastor

  • Share the lists

  • Info on ELCA/Mayo site about weight training that can be done without equipment that costs big bucks

  • Have seminary insurance cover wellness care

  • Talk to seminarians about leader wellness while  in seminary

  • Identify tax people to assist pastors with special advantages

  • Follow up with congregations to see if they act on the bishop’s mission gathering info

  • Spousal placement

  • Child care tax benefit – pre-tax dollars
