2012 Marks the 25th Anniversary of the ELCA and the Northern Illinois Synod
On June 19-20, 1987, five hundred seven delegates from the 159 congregations located in the 22 counties of Northern Illinois gathered at Augustana College in Rock Island to vote to constitute the Northern Illinois Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Congregational Resourcing Event is an excellent annual learning opportunity for the Northern Illinois Synod held at Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL, every March.
Around 600 congregational leaders and members of NIS congregations gather for worship with a message from Bishop Wollersheim, a keynote address, lunch, and a chance to choose from dozens of workshops on various topics. 
This year’s keynote speaker will be Pastor Jeff Marian, lead Pastor at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville, MN. Pr. Marian’s topic will be “SeedsGrowFruit - From God’s Story to Our Story.” Pr. Marian will also lead two workshops.
