During the morning plenary session, we voted on several amendments to the constitution. We voted on the third ballot for secretary. There were seven candidates. As the voting continued throughout the week, the voting machines were much better.
During the afternoon plenary session, we started with the fourth ballot for secretary, which included three candidates. Each of the three candidates answered three questions before the vote. After the fourth ballot, the candidates were reduced to two. The fifth ballot proved successful for The Rev. Lucille "CeCee" Mills.
After the fifth ballot, a series of constitutional amendments were discussed. Eventually, the amendments all passed.

I am a lay delegate. At first I felt out of place. As the week went on my comfort level increased. I want to think the synod for giving me the opportunity to be a delegate at such an important assembly.
-Mr. Mel Ehrler, Shepherd of the Hills, Scales Mound
The last day of assembly was a morning of Thanksgiving and new beginnings. We started with worship and communion with a sermon that asked “What are we going to do now for the sake of the World?” and reminded us that we are called to action just like Peter when Jesus told him to “Feed my Sheep”
It was during this service the new Churchwide Secretary Pastor CeCee Mills, was installed as the new Secretary.
During the last Plenary session we did one last bit of business where the assembly did not pass a motion to limit the terms of the Bishop and Secretary. Following that thanks was given to all the members completing their term on the church council including our own Pr Bill Callister.
Due to my role as Synod Vice President, I have been blessed to be at 3 Churchwide Assemblies. Everyone has inspired and moved me in a different way. This assembly had a strong youth presence, and many stood to share their thoughts and feelings, which I believe impacted the votes and the direction that our church is moving. It was said more than once that “the youth are not our future, they are the now” This gives me hope and excitement as we as a synod move forward walking together - loving Christ, loving all for the sake of the world
-Ms. Minnettee Willard, NIS Vice President
