Jesus said to them, “You give them something to eat.” (Luke 9:13)

A group of walkers from St. John’s Lutheran Church of Somonauk, where Chris Schoon serves as pastor, joined participants from seven neighboring churches for the CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday afternoon, October 3.

Their goal was to raise money to feed the hungry (both locally and globally) as they walked the ½ mile path together at Big Rock Community Park. Participants were encouraged to complete as many laps as they were comfortable with.

The added benefit to simply walking and getting exercise was the opportunity it provided to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful outdoors with friends, united around the common purpose of helping others.
